The Son of God

On the day of the Sun at the church of God
Listening to sermons the Pastors deliver
Love the world love the people
Make them free and live forever.

A boy born in a sacred church
Grew up saying the Son’s name
His touch healed the ailing crowd
His words gave life to men

One fine day he saw a man
Alone lying ruefully ill
He took him to the Church
Nurse him & make him heal

A photo fell from the ill man’s bag
It was of a heretic god
“The man doesn’t believe in Christ
What a pity!” the Pastor thought

As he told the man about Christ
The man bursted in tears
Holy Ghost the Pastor thought
One more soul he has made God’s dear

But the man again worshiped the heretic god
The Pastor lost his patience
He screamed at the ailing man
Asking him to come back to sense

“Heretic gods are from Satan
Destined to take man to Hell”
The man awed at the Pastor
As the Pastor made angry yell

Rising to Christ's glory, the Man said
“What healing would you do to me?
When your heart is as dark as devil
Which god will you make people see?”

God is beyond any philosophy
Not for a mortal man to define
He is a matter of faith and wisdom
Which no Bible or Church can confine

As he said this, he left the Church
The Pastor tried to stop the Son
But all he found was a blood shed cross
Alas, prejudice failed the test of wisdom . . .

  1. Beautiful..just nails the dogmatic and narrow view taken by most followers of Christ.
