New Age Cinderellas’

‘Cinders Cinders’ step mom’s maid
‘Cinders Cinders’ all work but not paid
‘Cinders Cinders’ lived in pain
‘Cinders Cinders’ a life mundane

‘Cinders Cinders’ blessed by fairy mother
‘Cinders Cinders’ met the King
‘Cinders Cinders’ did miracles
‘Cinders Cinders’ got the royal ‘Wedding Ring’

‘Cinders Cinders’ a fairy’s tale
‘Cinders Cinders’ lived happily ever after in royal veil. . .

WAKE UP CINDERELLAS !

We are Cinderellas’ making our own tales
No magic wand to protect us in safe shell
We work, we live and we be dainty
No fairy queen to add to our vanity

We are the owners of our destiny
We are goddesses we are decision-makers
We are thrashed somewhere for our entity
We refuse false imaginary saviours

We are killed we are burnt
But we stand holding our head strong
Give birth to men who crush our womanhood
We ourselves fight all social odds and wrongs.

We don’t dream of royal palace to hide
We don’t look for Prince Charming to guide
We build our own place in heart and mind
We give shelter to mighty ‘Man’ kind

By-gone are days when we were creepers
We now need no masculine umbrellas
We are happy, we are sad, we are simply Us
We are the new-age Cinderellas’
