The Best Verses from Bhagavad Gita according to my Father

karmaṇy evādhikāras te, mā phaleṣu kadācana, mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr, mā te sańgo 'stv akarmaṇi
You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.
(Chapter 2, verse 47)

ye yathā māḿ prapadyante, tāḿs tathaiva bhajāmy aham, mama vartmānuvartante, manuṣyāḥ pārtha sarvaśaḥ
As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly. Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Pṛthā. (Chapter 4 Verse 11)
daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī, mama māyā duratyayā, mām eva ye prapadyante, māyām etāḿ taranti te
This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it. (Chapter 7 Verse 14)

teṣāḿ jñānī nitya-yukta, eka-bhaktir viśiṣyate, priyo hi jñānino 'tyartham, ahaḿ sa ca mama priyaḥ
Of these, the one who is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in pure devotional service is the best. For I am very dear to him, and he is dear to Me. (Chapter 7 Verse 17)

ye 'py anya-devata-bhakta, yajante sraddhayanvitah, te 'pi mam eva kaunteya, yajanty avidhi-purvakam Whatever a man may sacrifice to other gods, O son of Kunti, is really meant for Me alone, but it is offered without true understanding. (Chapter 9 verse 23)

sarva-dharmān parityajya, mām ekaḿ śaraṇaḿ vraja, ahaḿ tvāḿ sarva-pāpebhyo, mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ

Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear. (Chapter 18 66 )
