I look at the sky and wonder ‘it is so vast!’
The twinkling diamonds make me lust
What a might that did such a task
Embracing the future, present and past.

I look around and see live gods
Forgotten they are the lord
Who gave birth to the ‘Beginning!’
Created the Cosmos against all odds

Locked as demurred slaves
We measure sorrows and happiness
The spirit of creation separated
The soul cries out from shackles of darkness

Then the Guru spoke the divine words
Freed from ignorance the mind ignites
The enlightened soul knowing thyself
Traces its way back to the Infinite

Carthage

I build my house from the Phoenician stone
The great architects lost in mystery
Dido dreamt a kingdom of her own
When her King left for eternity
A city built to modernity’s envy
Carthage flaunted in crowning glory
Calming the blues they became trade kings
Dared to step into Roman territory
The ancient Lion got awaken
And Put its paw back on coasts
The Phoenician chief sweared to tame
Crossed the Alps to Roman hosts
Fate had another story to write
Punic War as it was called
So Mother Carthage called him back
To fend the borders from Roman wrath
The city burnt and people killed
As Roman soldiers marched past in
So they thought Carthage ended
When history lay buried in Phoenician ruin.
